While combing through all the upcoming news for Season 8, I always make sure to keep my ear to the ground for any info the cast might let slip. And when that cast member is arguable the biggest villain of GoT, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be listening.
Enter Vladamir Furdik, the actor behind The Leader of The White Walkers, The Night King. Furdik has spent his career performing amazing stunts in films like Skyfall, Thor: The Dark World, Prometheus and countless others. This of course also means that he's been performing stunts on GoT too, so it's fantastic to see him in the limelight for once. OK technically we don't see him behind that make up, but the cold stare of The Night King is all down to Vladamir Furdik.
And Furdik seems just as comfortable being a star as he is doing their stunts. He seems to have mastered the art of giving just enough hints in interviews to leave his audience speculating on what's coming next (Tom Holland can learn a thing or two from him). Case and point, the subtle tip that The Night King and Jon Snow might be coming to blows in Season 8.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Furdik said " People will see he (The Night King) has a target he wants to kill, and you will find out who that is."
He continued this by saying "There’s also that moment (in the episode “Hardhome”) when Jon Snow was on the boat and the Night King looked at him and raised his arms — there’s a similar and even stronger moment between Jon and the Night King this time."
Is Furdik trying to tell us that The Night King wants Jon Snow out of the picture? If that's the case, why is The Night King so obsessed with killing The King of The North? Wouldn't it make far more sense for him to target Dany and her dragons first?
Despite how cryptic Furdik's interview was, I think he's very excited to show us what plans The Night King has for Westeros. When asked what his favourite Night King scene is, the actor simply stated "That’s still coming."
